Richard and Cindy Tymko
Richard and Cindy have been dancing together for the past 10 years. They began their partnership competing together in both the Country and Swing.
Since then, they have focused their efforts on teaching and coaching. At the 1998 Calgary Country Dance Stampede, Richard and Cindy were honored for the second year in a row with the North West Award of Distinction for their participation and contribution to the growth of Country Dance in the North West. Both of them have received Top Teacher awards at several of the dance events over the past years including Portland, San Jose, Calgary, and Edmonton and Anaheim, California.
In 1999 they took their very own "Rhythms Dance Team" to the UCWDC World Championships in San Antonio, Texas where their team became the Grand Overall Team Champions. Both Richard and Cindy have several Pro-am World Championship titles with their Pro-ams, Junior Youth and Teen Couples that they have coached over the years.
About Richard
The break dance craze was what first captured Richard's attention in dancing. Tiring of bruises on his head he moved to other forms of dance that required a little more footwork and poise, ballroom dancing and the disciplined arts of jazz and ballet. Richard enhanced his technique and creative abilities by performing for 2 years with "Vinok", a professional folk dance ensemble in Edmonton, Alberta. Richard is also known in the Line Dance World for his dances Hip Hop, MJ D.A.C.S., Prince's Bridge and Epsilon.
About Cindy
Cindy's dance career started at the early age of four in jazz, tap and ballet. As a teen, she was a member of the Young Canadians that performs during the famous "Calgary Stampede" each year. She has been teaching some form of dance for the past 22 years. She began instructing ballet, tap, and jazz for several years in both Calgary and Drumheller, Alberta before getting hooked on the Country and Swing Dance Circuit.
Both Richard and Cindy have trained in Country and Swing with the some of the world's top Ballroom, Latin, Country, and Swing coaches and they take pride in being certified UCWDC Judges.
